Alrighty, time to kick off my 8th 365 Project. This year, I'm going to do Weekly Themes. I'll take a specific subject (or technique) and see how many different ways I can photograph it. Some of you wonder how I come up with ideas though? Over the next couple of days, I'll give a behind-the-scenes peek at my process.
This is my first step: Brainstorming. Taking an hour or so one day a month, I come up with as many ideas as possible for the Weekly Theme (or Monthly Theme) that I want to do. It also helps to think of themes I can reasonably do in 7 days (or a month). Then, it's time to schedule them to a month. As you can see, haven't scheduled the entire year. Sometimes ideas come to me later, while I'm doing something else or as a month gets closer.
Here's the biggest secret: bouncing theme ideas off of Fred the Fred while enjoying some candy really helps get my brain going. :P
Very interesting. This seems easier then how I've been putting stuff in a list on an app on my phone, in which I forget to look at lol. Thank you for sharing.
@juhstinfx - Thanks!! I'll see if I can explain things as best as I can. Some of the things that go on in my crazy imagination may have no explanation but I'll try. :D
@joysabin - Thanks much! I love organizing things so this works really well for me. Plus, I feel I can always reach new heights with a frog by my side. :P
@shawnas365 - Thank you Shawna and you're welcome! I schedule things to Google Calender so it's on my phone too. I know what you mean, though, as the same thing happens to me from time to time. A list in an app is a great idea...unless you forget to look at it. lol.
@dibzgreasley - Thanks Debs! Tell you the truth, I absolutely love organization. I find it a fun challenge, even relaxing at times. So while it may not work for everyone, this is right up my alley.
@cjphoto
Like you, I also organise my themes sometimes and am super organised, other times I just go with the flow - which is highly contrary to my Virgo nature!
I am a go with the flow type of person which I need to do given my farming schedule. I learned early on that agriculture is crisis management and there will be times that I absolutely will not be able to participate in 365.
So, rather than torturing myself, I do what I can and forgive the rest.
@farmreporter - Thanks for sharing how you make this project work for you. Gives another interesting way of looking at this project. Takes the pressure off. There were some years I took it a lot easier too and posted fillers a few days. Gotta do what we can to keep it fun too! :)
@francoise - Thanks!! Hahaha that's very true!! Good eye there! I love "things neatly arranged" so much. Hopefully I'll be able to plan a week to try it out myself again. :)
@haskar - Thanks, haskar. That's very true! Believe me, I've felt that way a lot last year. You're still doing a great job sharing amazing photos! You must have a good life jacket. :) :) :)
@grammyn - Hahaha I would have totally understood what you meant. This is the best way for me to try to stay creative and keep it fun. Thanks Katy!! Now if only I can keep up with my followers better, have yet to stay organized there. Haha. (Accidentally deleted your 2nd comment!!!) :0
