Today, CJ the Legographer is taking a photo of one of the most recognizable landmarks in Downtown LA, the Walt Disney Concert Hall.
The project to build this Music Center went underway after Lillian Disney, widow of Walt Disney, donated money as a tribute to Walt Disney's devotion to the arts and to the city. This is also the home of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. The architecture, with its curvy stainless steel finish, captures the attention immediately.
While we can't go inside to see the actual concert hall, there's a garden & other nooks & crannies in the back that CJ and I will try to explore soon. 🎶😄
@domenicododaro - Yep, it's designed by Frank O. Gehry. It definitely has his signature curvy style. Thanks a lot! It took me a while to find a spot that works because a lot of construction is going on in this area. Nice of you to notice the curved handrail. :)
I like the low-color, high-key feel of this which sort of reminds me of the feeling in a theater just before the production starts. I too love the perspective CJ chose. It captures the bustle of the city street and the way this innovative building stands out. Great shot!
