(Day 257) - Capital Plan

CJ the Legographer is back in Hollywood and taking a photo of another Hollywood landmark. This is the Capital Records Building, which has signed many famous musicians and has a state-of-the-art studio that has recorded many famous albums through the years in all sorts of genres. It was nicknamed "The House That Nat Built" after the financial success of Capitol singer Nat King Cole.

We really like the round architecture, which CJ learned is supposed to resemble a stack of records on a turntable with the spindle pointing skyward. Very creative! 🎷😎
Such a famous record label! What a cool building! Also- there are reports on the news here in Chicago about the fires in California- please stay safe!

@kchuk - Thank you for the comment and thanks so much for your concern too Elyse! The current wildfires are closer to us this time and I can smell the smoke in the air. My family and I are safe where we are though. We are more in the city and the fires are taking place in the hills. My thoughts are definitely with all those affected by them.

I've been loving following CJ on his adventures. So good to see all the places on his travels, and often from his viewpoint.

@wendyfrost - Thanks Wendy! It certainly catchings one's attention!

@nickspicsnz - Thanks much Nick! So happy you're enjoying all of CJ's adventures. Getting the perspective can be tough sometimes but also really rewarding after all the bending, kneeling, and squatting. :D

@julie - Thank you Julie! It fun to imagine all the music artist who have preformed their records and albums here.

hmmm... It's a bit of Where's Waldo/CJ here. I wonder if you had positioned him differently he'd show up more?

@jyokota - I thought about that. Had a tough time with this one because this was the best spot I could find to place CJ to get the full subject. The ground didn't work. I also struggle with the DoF with CJ, like if I make it too shallow it fades the subject too much and not sure if I wanted that here but you think I should have faded it more? I tried a bit lower and closer to him but couldn't get most of the tower in the frame. I'll keep experimenting on other landmarks and see what works. Thanks so much for the feedback, I want to make some improvements.
