Went with family and friends to a roller skating rink named World on Wheels. It's a cool place with music and skaters of all skills & ages.
Not allowed to take my DSLR into the rink (although CJ was allowed to bring his; not fair, haha) so I had to improvise with my camera phone. Not the easiest nor best shot, but we still had a lot fun capturing all the moving skaters.
While we haven't found any skates in CJ's size yet, he had a blast rolling around the rink in my front pocket! 😁 Are any of you guys good at roller skating? 🤔
I didn't even realise there were still such places at roller skating rinks. Do they have roller discos there too - that would be a blast from the past.
Fun place and shot! I used to be good as a kid, but I haven't worn roller skates in more than 20 years, so I think I'd be a danger to everyone around me now...

@nickspicsnz - Quite a few of them closed down in LA. In fact, this one closed down but then opened back up a few years later. It's just too iconic. They might have like a 70s night, will have to check their schedules haha
@cruiser - Oh, I love ice skating too. Haven't went in a while. They seem the same but feel very different. I've been roller skating for a long time so I find it easier than ice skating.
@monicac - Imagining you bumping into people like bowling pins made me laugh. Hahaha But who knows, you might still got it!
@4rky - It takes tons of practice. I was more of a rollerblader in my teen years but then switched back to roller skates...they just feel better to me. But it takes a bit to get used to staying up!
@bokehdot - It's something how places like this are going away. Guess kids don't skate as much as they used to...unless it's in a video game.
@kjarn - Hahaha they both take lots of balancing skills! And lots of falling. :P
We have a rink around here somewhere too- but I don't think I'll be checking it out. I managed to stay upright when I was younger, but I don't think I'd do so well now! The phone shot works fine- I like the blur from the moving people.
