I know the plant is a milkweed and I think this is a juvenile Large Milkweed Bug. If I am wrong on my insect ID, please let me know. :0)
When I saw the pic on the computer, it made me laugh. It's a cute little bug. It didn't like me trying to nudge it with a piece of grass for a better shot. It flew off in a huff. LOL! I'm always better off to move myself and not disturb the insects.
Thank you so much for all the Happy Anniversary wishes yesterday!
We had a wonderful evening out and a yummy meal at an Italian restaurant. :0)
He is cute, unlike the bug I found in my house yesterday! (And he was on the ceiling, so I couldn't get him, and now he's hiding somewhere...) Great find! (And yes, I think the antennae are what makes him cute) :)
@cjwhite I bet! That guy was freaky!
Well, last night right before bed, there was a 3 inch (at least!) centipede on my bedroom ceiling... He didn't move, didn't move, didn't move, so I finally turned out the lights and went to sleep (by telling myself he was dead). Well, he's gone now! And I have no clue where! :(
@cjwhite Thanks! I hope he's either dead under the carpet or something, or he found his way back outside, or he's waiting in the bathtub and I can wash him down the drain and run the water for an hour or so (and maybe some drano or some kind of killer chemical that won't hurt my tub). ;)
What a huge set of feelers for a small insect I like the little curl at the end. The green background certainly highlights his flashy red shell. Nice find even if he rudely flew away.
The church is a big dome church
