There are some flowers that bring back wonderful childhood memories of my Grandmother's flower garden. The hollyhock is one of those flowers.
I am out of pocket for the next few days. I'm staying with an elderly relative during the day. She lives in the city, so my pics will be a little different. :0)
On my way home this afternoon, I drove into a severe thunderstorm. I have to admit, it scared me!!! The lightning was really bad and the rain made it hard to see the road. I don't want to do that again anytime soon!
Beautiful... I love how you can see the pollen on the petals. There were a couple hollyhock bushes where I grew up in Ohio, so that's what I associate them with. :)
Poor you re the thunderstorm. I'm glad you got home safely. This is a lovely photo of a gorgeous flower. You can even seen little spots of pollen on the petals. What does "out of pocket" mean to you? To us it means you have no money left. Reading between the lines for you, it means not being at home. Enjoy your visit.
Haha--never move to NC, we got some pretty bad storms here. Beautiful flower--that's how I feel when I see roses (my grandmother has a gorgeous rose garden in her back yard)
@murnane Thank you Marg! Yes, "out of pocket" means I'm not in my usual place. The weather was beautiful here today. What a difference a new day can make! :0)
Aww, stay safe!! And good you said waht you meant with out of pocket :oP Over here it means you have no pennies, not sure if someone already said.. they probably have seeing as you've explained!! Haha. Aah, anyways.. lovely picture. I like the little pollen sprinkle there on the petals :o)
I hope the weather improves for you soon. We have had a surprise drop in temperature so we are hoping for some warmer weather.
Take good care of yourself.
