There are moments when all the blood, sweat, and tears are worth it! This was one of those moments for me. The experience was wonderful and the picture is the icing on the cake!
This Hackberry Emperor landed on my wrist first. I took several pics, trying not to scare it away. I didn't have to worry. It flew away once and came back. This time, it landed on the top of my arm. I finally had enough sense to move around and try to get a nice background. This is a view across my neighbor's field.
The best part was putting my camera down and looking at the butterfly without the lens. It was so beautiful! Its eyes were clear with beautiful specks in them! The patterns on its wings were just amazing! The hairs on my arm were standing up, even though it's 90 degrees here today! :0)
Thank you so much for views, comments, and faves! They are always appreciated!!! :0)
Wow! This is an amazing shot. This little creature cooperated nicely to have its portrait made. I don't know how you focused the camera and held the other arm so still. Great capture.
What a fabulous shot! And such luck to have this beautiful creature hang about on your arm. I can even see the proboscis probing away. Excellent shot and a fav for me as well!
How exciting! Lovely butterfly photo, ON YOUR ARM! You had the presence of mind to tend to your focusing and background. You have shown us a great beauty, FAV!
In North Wales, near to where I went to University, there was a man called "The Original Butterfly Man" his claimn to fame is making those metal butterflies that people put on the walls of their houses.
I think you deserve the name "The Original Butterfly Woman" simply for the number of beautiful butterfly pictures you take. You always capture their stunning colours, grace and beauty.
I saw this on the pop page and hurried over to see some more of your lovely butterfly photos ... and was not diappointed! Beautiful pictures, well captured.
