I took a gazillion pics today. I had about five " maybe" pics. I decided to go out in the heat one last time. This Widow Skimmer must have felt sorry for me, because it landed right in front of me. Dragonflies are really hard for me to get. They fly away when I breathe. I got four shots. I didn't get the wing tips in two of them and one was out of focus. This is the last shot I took for the day. :0)
My hubby called on his way home from work. He was really excited that he found a cool bug and was bringing it home for me. I met him outside and he proudly opened the cup he had it in. I had just enough time to raise my camera and.....it flew away! LOL! The look on his face was priceless. I thanked him for bringing it home and I did see it long enough to identify it. It was a Wheel Bug. They do look really cool. Maybe I'll find it in the hayfield. :0)
Thank you so much for your views, comments, and faves!!! :0)
So beautiful. I honestly think sometimes bugs feel sorry for me, too, and stay still obligingly just long enough for me to get a shot. Then again, on other days, no bug feels sorry for me!
Lovely shot! And bless your hubby, he sounds fab for bringing you home that bug!! Aww. I've no idea what a wheel bug looks like, so I'm going to go Google Image it haha ;o)
Your hubby sounds like a great guy! Bringing a bug home just for you to take a shot! This is gorgeous! I love dragonflies! I have the opposite effect...can get the dragonflies, but having a hard time with the butterflies.
Carolyn, I found you in the Pop pictures today but have to tell you that I have been paging backwards through all of your photos and reading your captions for the last half hour. Every one of your pictures are amazing. And your descriptions often make me laugh, but this one was too funny with the bug that got away. I look forward to seeing more of your pictures. Just have to tell you that you've made my day. Thank you or that. ;-)
This one looks like the Darth Vader of dragonflys, BTW!
