Tiny Jewel by cjwhite

Tiny Jewel

This tiny moth is a Southern Emerald Moth. The caterpillar came in on some wildflowers I put in the butterfly habitat. The caterpillars are really strange looking. They are measuringworms and they have brown winglike extensions. To me, they look like a tiny pile of dead leaves. I never got a good pic of the caterpillar. It made its chrysalis soon after it came in.

The Emerald came out this morning. With the new butterflies and moths, I'm never sure if they will stay around long enough for a pic. Luckily this one sat on my fingers for several shots.

It has been raining all day. We really needed the rain and it's only 60 degrees. That is a big change!!!

It was hard to only take a few pics today. With the weather change, I might actually have to stay inside more and clean house. Not my favorite thing to do!!! :0)

Thank you for the nice comments and faves for my butterflies the past two days!!! :0)
He is just too tiny and cute not to fav!
