I have walked through tall grasses and bushes all spring and summer without seeing a snake. I've seen a couple of snake skins, but no snakes. I went to my daughter's house in a subdivision yesterday and saw a baby snake on her deck. I tried to get pics with my Rebel and zoom lens, but was shooting through fence slats. I took several pics with my Olympus. I got too close and spooked it. It quickly slithered away. I'm sure her neighbors thought something was amiss. My daughter, granddaughter, and myself all screamed in unison! Then we laughed at ourselves for screaming at a baby non venomous snake.
