Another wonderful activity for the children was the release of 200 Painted Ladies. The children were given a bag. Inside the bag was an envelope with a Painted Lady. Everyone released their butterflies at the same time. I loved it!
It's a beautiful picture of a lovely butterfly and wonderful that you've raised & released so many. I'm a bit uneasy about putting delicate insects in envelopes to be opened by children after seeing 4 year old Emily open her card last week! LOL A few years ago we raised & released 500 Peacocks, a glorious sight for all of us as the breeding cages were opened.

@jesika2 I was a bit uneasy myself. I taught school for 17 years and 13 of those years were in kindergarten. I know the little ones get excited. The parents were given the envelopes to hold until the release. I was a volunteer at this year's festival, but I hope to be more involved next year.🦋🦋🦋
