Eye to eye by cjwhite

Eye to eye

I have a fascination with animal and insect eyes. This is the best chickadee eye I've captured. I also discovered a new cropping tool, so my chickadee is really big.

Thank you so much for your comments on yesterday's cardinal!!! My favorite shots are the ones I get in the trees and bushes, but somedays I just appreciate getting anything. :0)

I'm posting a fun shot in my other album, if you have a little extra time. It's a different take on a female cardinal.

Great closeup of the Chickadee. The birdseed look so large it makes you realize how small the Chickadee really is.

Love your little chickadee. So lovely and so tiny. Beautiful eye. :) P.S. Sorry, but I think that I just called your female cardinal a "he!"

February 25th, 2012
this is beautiful! I find it so difficult to get a clear shot of their eyes cos they are so tiny and the birds here are just too far away for my lens...:(

What's your new cropping tool? Is it in PS? This is just lovely!
February 25th, 2012
@pwallis Thank you, Paula! I don't have PS. It's a crop tool in Picasa called wide screen photo frame.
February 25th, 2012
@cjwhite Hmmm - must check it out! I'm finding the crop tool in PS a tad on the annoying side. But it's all new to me too...

Really great close up detail. I like the spots of blue from the feeder as well. Adds some extra interest to the shot.

And this little guy is one of my favorites. I wrote a Chick-a-Dee report in the fourth grade about him. I remember that but don't ask me what I did yesterday. :-)

NICE job! Do you use piknik at all? I forget. If you do, if you go into "Touch up" I think it is, and then try to "paint" all over the eye with either eye bright, tooth whitener tool, or dodging/burning those will make his eye more noticeable....have a play with it. It has really saved me at times when I want something to be visible in the photo but it is just not popping out.
