I love these wildflowers from the Trumpet Creeper Family. This one is called Cross Vine. I first saw some of these blooms a few days ago, but I couldn't get to them. I found these near my backyard. I stood by them forever to catch one of the honey bees going in and out of the blooms. I'm glad nobody could see me. :0)
Thank you for your kind comments on yesterday's Monarch!!! I only saw a couple of butterflies today. The pear tree was quiet. There were only a few honey bees. I guess it's past its prime. My neighbor cut his field today, so I lost a lot of my wildflowers. I need to search for a new spot. :0)
Cool flowers, nice catching the bee visiting. These are in the same family as Jacaranda, Cotalpa and so many flowering vines, Bignoniaceae, I think this is Bignonia capreolata. Some of the tropical species are spectacular in bloom, flowering in profusion just before leafing out after the dry season.
@robv Thanks Robert! It is Bignonia capreolata. We have another variety here, the Campsis radicans, that blooms June-September. Everything seems to be blooming earlier this year, so maybe I'll find some before then. :0)
This is truly beautiful. It has all of the Mother Nature elements. (That sounds so fancy, doesn't it? haha) It has Green, the burst of color and the bee. You've got the triple whammy in this pic! I give you the National Geographic Award of Keeping It Real Nature Wise! I'm virtually shaking your hand, Carolyn! :)
@webfoot LOL! He told me i could take pics anywhere I wanted on the farm, but it is a working farm, so I guess he needed to get it ready to plant. I never thought I would be sad to see weeds cut. :0)
Sorry to hear about the cut field! Darn. I was cutting my yard for the first time Sat. and thinking "There goes all my growth that attracts the bugs.": haha but I am sure the neighbors are glad I cut it. Was not looking good! I went to buy lantana for my yard at the lake yesterday, but they did not have it in yet....she said come back in a week or so....I am going to get some and then just camp buy it and watch the life flying around it!
