The iris was designated as Tennessee's state cultivated flower in 1933. There are about 170 species of iris in many different colors. While the state legislature didn't name a particular color, the purple iris is commonly accepted as the state flower.
I have never seen a two toned one! This is gorgeous! All we have are purple, pink, and I think yellow....The processing on this (I guess you did it through processing) is spot on! it is super saturated and vibrant! Love it!
And a very nice specimen. We have some growing in the neighborhood that I've been trying to get a photo of. I've been able to do it, but I always end up with something else that's a little bit better each time.
@cjriggs Thank you! I included that in my description. When I was still teaching kindergarten, I always did a unit on Tennessee and the children would color an iris. :0)
