It's really hot and dry here. The temp was almost 100 degrees F today. The grass and wildflowers are dying. The farmers in my area are having to feed their cows hay. I'm not seeing very many butterflies and other insects. There's a chance of rain tomorrow. We really need it!
Thank you so much for your comments and faves on yesterday's Black Swallowtail!!! :0)
Fantastic detail and capture Carolyn. Interesting to read about the weather where everyone is living. We have had non stop rain for days and it hasn't hit 10 degrees here yet. I will be hoping for that long awaited rain tomorrow - fingers crossed!
Fingers crossed for your rain - if it were possible, you would be welcome to our un-seasonal down-pours! We seem to have much less insect life too, possibly because of the rain!
Beautiful shot and great details. Hope you get the rain, for us it will not come before September and we have to water plants continuously. Not that I mind - I hate rain.
I know how you feel about the heat except we also have high humidity to go with it too! Great shot! We've had some Monarchs flitting around and I've tried to get a shot of them, you must be really quick to be able to shoot them so crisply!
Beautiful capture!
Funny how things go. We have been so wet out in Alberta, the rivers are very high. I am in Ontario and just cut grass on my f-i-l's acreage and some of that grass was about 7 ft high. Farmers have a good first hay crop and will likely get a second! Hope things improve for you.
@lynnb My hay field has been cut once this year. Now, it's just brown and crunchy. There's a small chance for rain tomorrow. I have my fingers crossed.
