The Butterfly Fairy was kind to me today. She shared this beautiful Zebra Swallowtail with me. She knew I didn't need to be outside for very long. The predicted temp of 98F turned out to be 105F today. It's supposed to be higher tomorrow. You may get a sunrise pic tomorrow. :0)
Thank you so much for your kind comments on yesterday's butterfly!!!!!!!! :0)
Oh my .... just gorgeous. Fantastic lighting and pov! Beautiful texture and colors. Our temps are the same ... just too hot to go out there. Even now at night!!
Beautiful!! We're sure not seeing many butterflies - think these high temperatures (106 today) are about to burn everything up! This shot is extra super when you factor in your weather. I'm impressed! (And sure enjoying your shots.)
Heavens, Carolyn - do you just take one more spectacular than the last every single day? Gorgeous and fav. . .it is supposed to be 108 here in Atlanta tomorrow. . .
You have a kind and generous butterfly fairy! I can't imagine those temps consistently! We hope to get to about 74 today! But at least it hasn't rained in 2 days! Maybe it will go your way.
Lovely shot, wonderful composition.
Its hot here too, but what's killing us is that we haven't had any rain for a month. On top of the mild winter without much snow, the water table is very low. We're only allowed to water on odd days and must be done watering by 10 am - needless to say, the lawn is burnt!
@timandelke It's been that long since we've had rain. too. The farmers in our area are in trouble. The cows don't have anything to eat and they are having to feed what little hay they cut, before it got so bad. One farmer lost 70 acres and a barn to a fire yesterday. No burn rules have been applied and there won't be any Fourth of July fireworks. We have a small chance for rain next Tuesday. I hope we both get rain SOON!
Lovely shot, wonderful composition.
