I played a very long game of cat and mouse with this hummer at my Mom's house today.. Every Sunday, I try to get a hummingbird shot on her flowers. I finally succeeded today.
She has a screened in backporch. I could see them from the porch buzzing the flowers, but as soon as I tried to sneak out the door, they flew away.
I tried standing still under a nearby tree, but it was a no go and I was getting tired. I got one of my Mom's outdoor chairs and sat close to the porch. Just as I was about to give up for the day, this little lady came along. I took my shots while sitting in the chair. I was afraid to move. :0)

We had matches again today - right to the same flowers! Beautiful shot. I'm trying to get the male to come to the flowers - so far, only the female will. As you said, even moving my arms up to lift the camera will sometimes chase her away. I'm really impressed with your shot. Congratulations!
@timandelke It is Lantana. I had never seen it until the 365. This is my Mom's, but I've actually kept one of my own alive. I wish I had your green thumb! :0)
@cjwhite My thumb isn't really that green - if you only knew the many plants that have died in my care! I only grow things that do well in my area with minimal care. Anything that's fussy dies!
