We had a bit of a scare with Roland today.

She was eager to get to our new routine of hanging out all day long. In the morning all was well, nothing amiss at all, but in the afternoon I noticed a little bit of red by her nose and feared it was blood. A quick bit of Googling told me that no, it was probably just mucus and most people thought it was blood at first. She'd been sneezing more today, not enough to worry me on its own but enough to make me think she might be coming down with a respiratory infection.

So I kept her in my arms all day long, until my boyfriend got back from work. He held her while I tossed out her bedding and scrubbed her cage from top to bottom. Just to be safe. He was extremely worried about her but as more time passed the less worried I was. By the time her cage was clean and I'd rat-proofed the bed so she could run around to her heart's content while staying close by I didn't really worry at all.

Her owner and I chatted a bit. He wasn't worried. A bit of all of that is completely normal. Since her appetite and behavior were completely normal, the best she'd been the whole time we had her so far, we agreed there probably wasn't cause for any alarm. I'm glad I noticed and I'm glad I cleaned her cage, since it was literally the least I could do, but all my worries melted away.

The temporary fleece bedding (all we had to replace it with) seemed to confuse her at first, but soon enough she settled in for the last night of her vacation.
Precious perspective!

Beautiful PoV and maybe the bedding was like a down comforter to her. She's a lucky girl.
