I won't commit to it just yet, but I feel like I'm making a comeback! I took my infrared-converted D70 body out today, so something unique for my first day back on 365...
@kwind Hey! Just an update for you...after spending two months with the architect, we got our engineered plans only to learn that our build would cost $40,000 more than originally indicated!!! When we factored in unplanned overages, landscaping, window coverings, etc, we decided to skip the stress and buy. We had wanted to build only because no houses were for sale on view lots...one was put on the market just days before we got our outrageous build bids!
I think its much better to buy than build! From experience, I say that though our builds have been good. This is fabulous - you really have to have the right subject to use infrared!
First of all, I was really disappointed when you disappeared, and am so glad all is OK. You picked a perfect subject for IR, and it looks great. I know there are different conversions that result in slightly different tints. For example, this looks very slightly blue, and a friend uses IR with a rather strong brown tone. I like this better. Do you have any advice on getting an IR conversion?
