A female Variegated Meadowhawk dragonfly is terminally stuck to the tongue of this ambitious juvenile male Vermilion Flycatcher.

Photographed in deep Southwest Texas.

This is amazing. My husband sent me a power point of top wildlife photos...there was one in there of a bird catching a dragonfly....yours is better! Although...when viewed large...it doesn't yet look like the fate of the dragonfly was sealed! lol Total fav Cissy

Jaw-dropping capture!!
'Amazing' doesn't begin to describe it.
I know there are lizards with sticky tongues, but I had no idea about birds.
That is just wild...and a Fav of course.
