One more look at the marvelous Scissortail Flycatcher and their unique plumage. The forked tail enables them to perform dramatic aerobatic maneuvers, which the male uses to impress the ladies, and which also makes them a real challenge to photograph on the fly. They're a member of the Kingbird family.
Scissortail Flycatchers are migratory and spend summer usually in Oklahoma and Texas (they're also known as the Texas Bird of Paradise) while breeding, and then head south to Mexico and Central and South America.
