I'm Looking at You Looking At Me

284 / 365
Of all things, today we saw a big Osprey flying over ranch land in southwest Texas, nowhere near the coast or any big body of water. So, this bird is clearly migrating. When I pulled this shot up, I also noticed that he/she is banded - if you magnify, you can see the silver band on his/her left leg. Not sure what that means, but I'll do some investigating.

This photo is essentially not enhanced at all, except for cropping. The sky really was that blue!

Thank you for viewing and commenting - every comment is read and means a lot to me.

Fabulous shot Cissy - fav!!! I always admire people who manage to catch birds in flight like this because it is very hard to do. I know because I've tried but never succeeded as well as this

@rosiekind Thank you Rosie - this bird was very cooperative and made it relatively easy. I did have lots of misses this past weekend; this hits made it worthwhile! Thanks again for your nice comments and for the fav! :-)

Wonderful capture. Most ospreys up here are banded as the nests are observed.

This is soooo great! Really nice capture. @rosiekind I so agree with you, I find birds in flight like ninjas all completely illusive. Cissy makes it look like they are hanging out waiting to get their picture taken!

@kandkids Thank you, Karen - I love capturing birds doing something...flying, eating, courting. I've competed in skeet shooting, so I guess that helps me with following moving targets. I really appreciate your and everyone's comments. Now that I've finally finished moving, I will have time to review and comment on the wonderful contributions of others here.
