I hate spiders, whatever the size they frighten me, I know its stupid but I can't control myself, it's a phobia ...i'm arachnophobic.
This one cross my living room, I found myself very adventurous and courageous to dare taking a shot !
Now she's in the kitchen vacuum cleaner, and I'm going to ask my husband to give her her freedom in the garden....I hate them but I can't kill them.
Do I have to precise the size of that monster ?......5 mm....no comment....
Fun shot of the motion! I feel that way about Palmetto Bugs (Southern roaches). And I can very easily kill them with no problem :-) Spiders are rather interesting to watch and don't mind them much except I would freak out to see a black widow or brown recluse.
@cimes1 in fact all bugs are scary to me I remember those big giant Palmetto bugs in Asia....beurk..... !
Happily there's no dangerous bugs in Switzerland, but I come from south of France where you can find black widow ( seen once, but it's very rare ) and small scorpios...(seen very often)....I should live in Siberia.... ;)
I'm not scared of spiders but I do appreciate that people are, you certainly have done well to get this shot. I like the lighting in this shot, well done:)
great action shot. And you are very brave for overcoming your fear and getting the shot. I also try not to kill them either, but the kids tend to freak out a little. Especially with the Huntsman spiders, they grow to the size of a dinner plate. They are completely harmless, but they move like lightning and have a tendancy to jump as well, this tends to freak a lot of people out.
What a perfect DoF to have the spider stand out! I've had similar reactions -- things I'd never ever want to be around now become subjects for photos (e.g., snakes, spiders, bugs). 365 has changed a lot of how I look at once yucky things.
