I personally don’t like those supposed “typical French dishes” like snails and frogs, it looks a bit disgusting and is honestly no taste … the most interesting thing in those recipes is usually the garlic/parsley/butter mixture.
Some of the "country" fellows I used to work with would bring in frog legs and cook them on the weekend for those of us who had to work. We had other game specialties too as the different seasons rolled around.
