Empty.

Basel has the reputation to host the most beautiful Christmas market in Switzerland, it is all over the town in every squares and streets , but this year ...nothing, another thing I miss ...
This has been taken in Saturday afternoon , it’s usually crowded.
Our shops are still open but I’m happy to see that people are respecting the covid rules.
oh, so sad. Great capture tho. Hopefully next year we can see a more festive scene,

Hopefully as people abide by the rules set out for their area the virus will die out. Vaccines are starting to be given in my state, but I'm a bit far down on the list to get one.

J'aime cette vue de la ville. Basel a l'air d'être très pittoresque.

How sad but it's a lovely shot all the same. A reminder to look back on of this difficult year.

so sad Corrine, all the street events that Nottingham hosts throughout the year (and there are many) have all been cancelled. Excellent reportage photo

I can imagine what it must be like in such an expansive plaza. Hopefully next year we can see.

The ominous sky adds to the mood of this capture - well done.

So sad, my husband and I got to see the Christmas market in Basel a few years ago. Seeing the Christmas markets was one of the first things on my "bucket list" when I first retired and had time to travel. We loved visiting the ones in Switzerland, Germany, and France!
