just breathe.... by colorfade

just breathe....

What an insanely busy day at work today. We are in the midst of making Mother's Day gifts and its seems to be a long and complicated little process (making plaster moulds of the children's hands - trust me when I say, this is harder than it sounds. I'm pretty much sick of the sight of plaster of paris) There were also other issues at work that added significantly to my stress levels, but the fact that this site is totally open to anyone viewing the internet, I'm reluctant to elaborate. You just never know whose watching!
At the days end I was happy to sit with a coffee and just exhale...
Boring shot, but mentally, all I'm capable of..
I like this photo, I have had a day like yours also. Hope tomorrow is better.

whatever, this is so not boring. you're crazy. :) i love how simple and calming this is. i think it's beautiful, and made even more so by the crazy day of work. hey, come over and have brownies and lemonade with me anytime and my husband can play the guitar for us. :) hope you find some time to relax!

hi andrea, that song i put with my photo today was inspired by your playing-the-guitar photo...it's an old song though.
i hope everything goes well for you in the days to come...i also have those days when you feel like,' enough is enough!'...but then, with a nice cup of latte and a good night's sleep, somehow i feel better. reckon it'll be better if we have a job as photographers? what a dream....i wish i can take up a course to hone my basic skills. any idea?

Bonnie - it's a date!!!! I'll bring my husband and he can play the tamborine...loll....

Luster - I actually did a part time photo course at PSC down near Southbank a couple of years ago..it was an Advanced Diploma and was going to take 4 years part-time. I only ended up doing semester one (which was designed as a short course) and thought about continuing on, but working full time it was fairly stressful.....If you want more details let me know and I can email you info....

what are you talking about? this is not boring at all. i love the muted colors and the softness of it - made me feel relaxed in a way...if this was my picture, it would've had ice cold coca cola. ahhhhh...to each his own. anyways, hope your stress levels have gone down.

This photo is not boring! It's very calming. I think everyone had one of those days yesterday :)
I would also be interested in the Diploma you started if you have info? That is sort of how I got started on this project, because photography is a hobby I would like to pursue after my current degree...
Hope your day is better today!

As a former preschool teacher (now stay-at-home mom) I feel your pain.... Glad you were able to take a few minutes for yourself. Off for some french vanilla capuccino myself...Course, not as yummy looking as yours, but it'll do. Love the details of the cinnamon sprinkles on top....

Did you say boring? Nonsense! I did tea today and I much prefer your coffee. Starbucks couldn't have made it more appealing.

this is wonderful! (i thought that commenting on all your pictures with 'i love it!' would be a bit boring, so i thought i would mix it up a bit).
it's great to just relax, especially after such a crazy day.

this photo makes me feel so calm. and makes me feel like a hot cup of something :)

Amazing how effective this shot is, in its beautiful simplicity.
The absence of colour is actually quite calming and tranquil.
Wonderful!
