Monthly Mila - A photo of Mila each month for a year to document her growth.
Today baby is 5 months old.....wow! I had to shoot her OFF the chair this month as she is just too wriggly these days and I was worried she would roll (favourite pass time at the moment) and fall off. I could have had someone hold her and then photoshopped them out (very popular technique with baby photography) but I like her monthly photos to be a REAL representation of her development and if she can't do something on her own then im not going to pretend that she can just to get a "cute" photo. There seems to be a huge trend in newborn/baby photography at the moment of placing the bubs in totally un-natural positions (ie. with hands under their chins miraculously holding their own heads up while asleep!) and I just find it toatlly cheesey and creepy. But hey, that's just my opinion and there must be plenty of others who think differently because the market is certainly out there!
So sweet and beautiful processing, as always. She really is a doll! Please, pretty please, will you come up with a processing recipe for me (preferably in LR). JK ;-) I, for one, agree with you on the newborn/baby photography. I just think babies should be photographed naturally. You really can't improve on that, IMHO.
Great picture, and I totally agree with you. I was kind of disgusted the first time I saw one of those hands-under-chin piccies... I mean, it's cool-looking, but what the hell IS it?! Kids don't do that. For photography's sake, I get it, for documenting newborns, not so much. I prefer the ones with the newborns all tucked in with their booties in the air : ) hehe. Now -that- is how newborns look!
I was wondering what was going to happen with these shots once she started moving! haha Very cute indeed. My littlest is 7 months and in the last month has changed so so much! Enjoy!
this shows a happy little girl, which is just the perfect photo in my mind. My how she is growing. I look forward to her monthly photo. My guess is that she will not be back on the chair for quite a few months, unless you tie her to it.......
How cute and what a wonderful idea to document her changing month by month! Love your processing too, I'm sure I've said that before, but I really do! ;)
She looks so happy. She must see her momma ; )
