Wentworth Mansion, Historic District, Charleston. by congaree

Wentworth Mansion, Historic District, Charleston.

This is the second largest mansion in our historic district. It is now a hotel with a very fancy restaurant. It was designed in the Second Empire style and built in 1886, one of the newer houses in that area. It is quite a commanding presence from the street, and I pass it often on my walks. For those of you who budget-conscious, it’s a bargain. (Just kidding) Rooms start at $400 a night!! 🥺. You can go to their Web site and take a virtual tour. They are very luxurious, and what a place to stay for a night or two! 🧐. But really, would you?
What a magnificent building. Can't believe this was ever a single residence. Very nice job of capturing it.
