My first try with the head in the hands. Taken with two exposures and deleted the mommy's hands. Would really appreciate some critic as I want to try going into business with the small little angels.
the photography is amazing and editing fantastic but.. I find myself worrying about the baby - it's not a natural position and it just adds an element of unease when I look at it. hope you don't mind me saying so, it's just you asked for critique..
@lauralatham - thank you so much for you commenting I do really appreciate it. This type of photography can only be done between the ages of 5 - 12 days when the baby is still "used" to curly position inside the mommy. After 12 days these type of shots can't be done anymore as the baby won't be that flexible anymore. It's kind of difficult as you have to take two shots at more or less the same angle. It is kinda unnatural pose but it is such a big part of newborn photography that I had to try it. Baby safety as always first. Lost of people take it without the mommy helping but I would rather be safe. They are such small cute loveable babies. Thanks so much for all the true comments. Much appreciated
@cornefunproject well I never knew that and I've had 2 babies!! I wish I'd had some photos taken like the ones you're taking, they really are very good.
@lauralatham - hehe. The sad thing is I also have two boys and didn't even know about this as well. I think this is only the last two years that it became such a huge thing with newborns. Wish I can go back and take such photo's of my own. :-)
I assume you have heard about Anne Geddes, who I think has been the most original baby photographer in the world for many years. Here is her site: http://www.annegeddes.com/ I don't care for this photo as much as the other because the baby's face seems somewhat distorted by the hand placement.
these are all great for first attempts, newborn photography poses are the hardest and you can only get better from here, so i think you are well on your way in this field.
