This photo wasn't taken today and it wasn't taken by me. It was taken by one of Greg's workmates quite a few years ago ... but today was the day that workmate found the photo and sent a copy to me.
When a loved-one dies, you quickly learn that there are only a finite amount of photos of that person. Their likeness only captured so many times in so many places.
So each time some thoughtful person sends on a photo you've never seen, it's greater gift than they will ever know.
Take lots of photos of special people in your life. Take funny shots and portraits. Never delete them. and make sure that YOU are in photos and not always behind the camera....
Your words are so true, we have just a handful of photos of my brother, and I rarely have photos of myself and Chris. Its given me food for thought! And what a great gift for you. : )
How lovely =) your so right Amanda, when we lost my husbands dad we found that we had hardly any photo's and i could have kicked myself for not taking more when i had the chance! im glad he thought to send you this =)
Wonderful - I'm so pleased!
I remember years ago my Nanny was sent a 'souvenir' brochure from the company my Grandad had worked for (they paid the pension and were still in touch)... she found him on one of the old b&w photos inside - I can see her now, gazing at it. He had died long before I was thought of but I felt almost close to him that day x
It's a great shot of him too. Ya know, it's funny you say about make sure you're IN photos.... I said to Andy the other day that he doesn't get shots of me with the boys... he said he's so used to me having the camera that he doesn't notice. Mind you, I hate my pic taken, but for the boys... they need them if anything was to happen.
