Hi Lesley. It’s a Menyanthes. We call this very pretty bog flower (literally translated) Fever Clover. I had to look up the English name(s): they say in English the common names are bogbean or buckbean.

I can upon this little rhyme:-

In Halliwell's Popular Rhymes and Nursery Tales this rhyme occurs:
'Buckee, Buckee, biddy Bene,
Is the way now fair and clean?
Is the goose ygone to nest,
And the fox ygone to rest?
Shall I come away?'
