Our white flowering cherry has started flowering early. It only has one small branch left as we had to cut it down 4 years ago when it got a virus and died back to just this one area and each year since then it has valiantly tried to recover and this year it's flowering. We left the trunk and have grown a Montana clematis over it which will flower in a week or two, it has covered the tree and will be a 15 ft waterfall of pink which certainly has compensated for the lost cherry.
