A sunny trip to Bempton cliffs today was a bit blustery with temps of about 20c, with loads of folk and some very serious telescopic lenses. I managed to get some of my favourite sea-bird too although my lens is woefully inadequate and all the shots I got would have looked so much better if I had a longer lens for my 650D but I can't grumble, maybe another year.
Did you know that the bright horn bill is only for the mating season and loses its colour when they go to sea for the winter. The young are called pufflings and spend the time underground or in the holes of the cliff face, their faces are grey and lack the colour of the adults.
Nice on black
Thank you for all your lovely comments and favs all are very much appreciated
Love the way the one on the top is looking at you with a quizzical face. Wish I could get to where these are. It is on my bucket list of a shot I want.
Great info and nicely composed...I know what you mean re the lenses but I not only can't afford what I'd want but also am not strong enough to hold it!
