A lovely sunny day with 20c temps, the heather is in full bloom and its perfume is a glorious honey fragrance. The moors are never more alive than at this time of year, this is a shot across the heather and a moorland farm surrounded by a sea of purple!
Nice on black
Thank you for all your comments and favs all are much appreciated.
Found this on TP - What a fabulous scene, such a sense of space. I remember years ago having a holiday in Northumberland and being quite amazed at the carpet of purple and the gorgeous scent. Where is this? fav
@Cherrill
It's the North York Moors Cherrill, just on our doorstep a few miles up the road. The heather is very fleeting, it's here for the month of August then slowly turns brown in September. Glorious while it's here and it's perfume is like honey.
Fantastic! My hubby and teenager recently walked the Coast to Coast and took some lovely pictures of the moors when they were on the last leg of the journey. We all adore Yorkshire!
