This shows how the early heather hugs the verges and ditches along the roads across the top of the moor. Taken on Sunday just before it started raining again the light wasn’t good, if the sun had come out this early heather sparkles!
The moor is now showing hints of pinks of the true heather which starts flowering in August. The heathland comes alive for such a short length of time. The heady perfume of honey hits the senses if you get a still, warm August evening, there isn’t anything quite like it.
