Every year in our little town, there's a town-wide yard sale during the 1st weekend of June. It's really great because we get a ton of people and you don't have to do any advertising. It was rainy and cold the whole weekend, so we had the sale in our empty kitchen. Even with the poor weather, we still made close to $400 ... and $300 of that was from sales of kids clothes and toys! That's a lot of clothes and toys!!
I'm the opposite of a pack-rat, so part of me was glad to be released of all this STUFF. But, also, it was sad to see some of that stuff go. Oh well, some other little boy will have fun with those toys and look cute in those clothes (but not as cute as my boys)!
That is the great thing about photographs isn't it - we don't have to hang on to everything - we can still remember. I let go of a lot of old stuff last year but I took I photo of everything before it went!! You're right no one will look quite as cute in it as Logan and Andrew - LOL!!!
Perfect dof! I have never done a garage (yard) sale, party because our we don;t have garage (haha) and our yard is about 2 miles in the woods of the main road. But I was thinking about joining my friends yard sale in September. Way to much toys in this house too :-)
Great shot. I can't do garage sale with my kids. They don't want to give anything away. Instead I bring stuff to Goodwill when they are at school. You did good $$$.
@purdey - YES, that is the great thing about the photographs - and they take up so much less PHYSICAL room. But now, I'm having a problem with all of the DIGITAL room that these raw files are taking up! Haha. I need to get another external hard drive. I've even started taking pictures of the kids art work before it gets tossed. I have no idea what I'll do with these pictures, but I guess it just makes me feel better about throwing them away! Of course I do save my favorites though.
@bardejov - Thank you! And I have the SAME problem. I was able to keep the kids out of the 'yard sale room' for the a good part of the 1st morning which was when a lot of our stuff sold. But, they finally were keen to what was going on and in started the parade of old toys BACK into the house! These yard sales will probably be harder to do when they get older!
@zuzana - That's the way to go - join a friend that lives in a busy town! Its pretty fun. Also, by doing it at someone else's house you don't have the problem discussed above with @bardejov! Unless of course you have to bring your kids with you!
glad i have pictures of them in those clothes.
hope you had a good day
