rain!

after 52 days without rain some fell during the night. It didnt soak down very far but the plants are looking fresher, the crickets are singing happily in the moist ground and the street gutters got a washout. This is a lovely puddle on the side of the road. Could almost be black and white except for the pretty little reflection in the lower left corner.

@cruiser Thanks to the massive storm in Sydney on Friday night, I sat on the tarmac at Sydney Airport for 3 hours.......waiting for the rain to clear. I was cursing the rain last night!!

Isn't the smell of rain fabulous after it has been so dry for ages. We had rain last night and a storm tonight too. Still not much rain with it, but every little helps.

It's great to hear you had rain! In the Fall and early Winter it felt like it was the opposite for us- after 52 days of rain the sun came out! This actually would make a good black and white. Cropping it to the sudsy part would make a nice abstract.
