Pineapple surprise........ by cutekitty

Pineapple surprise........

.......well I was surprised anyway.....there it sat in the middle of a lovely little garden in Heartlands......they have themed gardens from some of the countries the miners (Cousin Jack and Cousin Jill) migrated to after the down turn in tin and copper mining here in Cornwall (not through lack of natural resources, rather the usual problem, lack of money and being forced to sell the product at a lower price (sound familiar???)

'and when the fish and tin are gone, what are the Cornish lads to do. We'll do as we did before, go out and roam the whole world 'oer. Wherever fish and tin are found, or there's a hole down underground'

Words from the song 'Cornish Lads'.....this is not an old traditional song, but was written at the turn of this century, when the last of the tin mines (South Crofty in Pool) closed in 1996.
A lovely tree and capture

@shirleybankfarm Yes, very unusual isn't it. Cornwall is mainly sub-tropical, so we grow a huge variety of plants that would not grow in other parts of the country.
