This is one of the cranes on the jetty in Mevagissey. This is a very busy fishing harbour with quite a large fleet of boats and there is always a lots of activity going on....although I think when I took this pic they had gone off for their 'pasty break'.....
@wildbird There were quite a few tourists wandering around, no shops, pubs or sit in cafe's open though. Loos were open at 50p per pee ! Next week will bit somewhat different I expect.

I have an oil painting that belonged to my Mum and I always thought it was a painting of the south east coast, but looking at the houses in this shot I wonder now if the painting might have been a scene in Cornwall. Do you know anything about an artist called Anne Croft. I think the painting might date to the late 1930s.
@onewing Yes indeed. She did lots of local views for prints and postcards.....quite a lot about her on Google and Wiki.......looks like more the 50s' than 30's though.

It does look unusually peaceful though.
