Love Those Eyes

I did get out and shoot today but decided to post a snowy owl photo that I shot yesterday. Love the colors along with such a beautiful bird.
Stunning bird! Great shot.

@jyokota, I am located in central Ohio. They will occasionally migrate from the artic to our area. It is a big deal when they do. This one is located just outside of Columbus at a state park.

@cwbill -- I used to go to Westerville every year but never to a state park where such birds might be! I would have been mesmerized in the presence of one.

@jyokota, Alum Creek State Park is indeed near Westerville, but these owls can land and stay just about anywhere. They do seem to stay in a general area once they land in some particular spot.

A peregrine falcon flew right over my yard the other day -- thrilling to see, as it was very low, right over the rooftop. But I couldn't swing my camera around and click it fast enough. They come to our city every year for nearly twenty years now and roost on the library roof.

@jyokota, I have never gotten a shot of a peregrine. It is on my list. We have a couple of cities in Ohio including Columbus which have them year round.

All the birds I photograph are easily attracted backyard birds == they like the usual birdseeds. I can't imagine putting out the kind of food peregrines would like -- no, rather, I should hide my darling chipmunks from them! (don't they eat such little things?) I have heard owls in the neighborhood when I have gone for early morning walks but haven't seem any yet.

@jyokota, your dear chipmunks and squirrels are all on the menu for all of our raptures. If you have birds ad small rodents around your house some of the raptures will follow. You just always root for the little guy.
