Not So Sharp Exit by daffodill

Not So Sharp Exit

This afternoon we went to Pershore, via Upton Snodsbury and numerous narrow lanes.
We tiptoed into the Abbey, as it was Holy Saturday they requested that visitors were silent, in case people were praying.
I realised exactly how perfect the acoustics were, when the sound of my shutter reverberated round the building!
Fortunately no-one was praying!
Then we moved down to the river,
and walked along towards the weir.
The peaceful sound of the flowing water was suddenly distrubed by an almighty crashing and flapping of wings,
as one swan was chased off by another.
We watched in amazement as it flew up the river,
bouncing off the water as it went.
The blurring of the vegetation on the banks gives some idea of the speed it was going!
Not the best shot of the day, but one of the most interesting!
Shortly afterwards rain predicted by the ominous rumbles of the previous half hour or so arrived!
Goodness was that rain cold!
We drove home through the centre of the storm,
through torrential rain, floods and hail.
The weather was very localised and it was interesting to see where the rain had fallen.

The title refers to both the ungainlyness of the swan and the slightly bluriness of the shot.
Awesome capture! He is moving really fast! :0)
