Cross of Change by daffodill

Cross of Change

After years in the planning, the pew have finally been removed!
In some places the floor needs making safe - hence the buckets.
The removal of the pews will enable this space to be used in so many different ways.
As I stood at the back of the church
I could see the tiled sections of the floor, forming a cross,
leading towards the Sanctuary.
I was reminded that change is not always easy
and the revealed cross reflects that change can be very costly.

Good luck with the change. Such a beautiful space!

We have chairs too, but the church was designed without pews. Threw English Heritage when they were assessing listing - "Well, you'll have to put the pews back" "What pews? It's never had pews" Huff, puff. It's useful being flexible - we turn it round or take the chairs out to do things, like Bright and Light parties.
