A few weeks back I looked at my daughter's trainers and thought
"Wow! They look badly worn!" and then I realised that she was wearing her old trainers.
"Where are your new trainers?"
"I don't know!"
We looked around and failed to locate them.
True, they could be in the chaos that exists behind her bedroom door, but in reality she always takes her shoes off as soon as she comes through the door.
"Check lost property!" was my cry.
Today she come home.
"I realised where my trainers are!"
"Where"
"I remembered between lessons one and two that they are on the shoe rack in the porch!"
She then went out to the porch and produced a pair of familiar looking and almost new trainers!
We laughed.
Had no-one looked their before?
After a bit I had a sudden thought.
"Abi can you put your new trainers on, please."
She put her trainers on - the end of the feet looked rather flat.
I checked her toes.
These trainers were about 3 sizes too big!
No wonder the trainers looked familiar - they were mine! A pair I hadn't worn for a while.
What made me suspicious was that they were lace ups.
I never would have bought lace up trainers for her to take to school!
And so the saga of the missing trainers continues. At times I wonder if we left them in the shop the day we bought them!
