The Road Ahead by daffodill

The Road Ahead

Traveller, dear
as you draw near
to the brow of the hill
Do you still feel the thrill
of never knowing
what lies ahead?
Or are you weary
of travelling along this road.

What have you seen,
As you journey, O Traveller dear?
Sights that shock you to the core
Sights that fill your heart with awe
Storms and sunshine,
snow and rain.
Part of the cycle,
the never ending refrain

O traveller dear, have you far to go?
When will you stop, will you even know,
when you have reached your destination?
Have far is it still in your estimation?
Stop a while and take a rest
may your travels be for ever blessed
As you move on from town to town
ever looking for somewhere to call home.

I like the criss-crossing of all the wires in this, almost making the road a tunnel, fencing that vehicle in.

Good questions and thoughts! The road and lone car fits!
