The Rose of Sharon is past its peak. As the seasons begin to change, the remaining blossoms are often double. I do like seeing the Rose of Sharon shrubs full of blossoms. However, I also like to see these double blossoms. Note: the number of seed pods already below this double blossom. Summer is definitely beginning to slide into Autumn.
@milaniet Thanks! I took a closer look at the Rose of Sharon shrubs today. Only one shrub seems to have this tendency toward a double blossom. I wonder why.
@pyrrhula Thank you for your comments. Thank you for your fav. I prefer to take pictures in color, especially of flowers, but I am participating in the black and white fortnight challenge. Therefore, almost all of my daily photos are in black and white. I am finding BW to be a challenge, but I am learning more and more about BW.
