February Still Life

This is a still life that I set up. "Still Life" is the monthly theme for one of the photo clubs I belong to. The big problem is that I am not very good yet about setting up still lifes. I like this one in color as there are a lot of pinks. However, this one is in black and white, because it is for the flash of red (BW) challenge. I am not certain if this shot will make the cut for my top four images that I will take to photo club. However, this is one of the best still lifes I have set up so far.

I think this has got a lot going for it - the lace and the sweet wee statuette. I t could do with a tiny bit better focus if you can!

@maggiemae Thanks for your comments. The light was dim due to a dark cloudy day. The focus on this one shows me the need for making a light box so I can get better lighting indoors on a cloudy day.

@sailingmusic I belong to two photo clubs (a long story why I belong to two). It is a bit stressful at times. However, I add this stress to myself. Neither club demands that you participate in every assignment and do every monthly photo theme. I force myself to participate in everything, do to my perfectionist nature. I also realize that I can learn from doing the photo genres I am not good at shooting. I learn a lot from the programs and from the others in the clubs. I enjoy talking to people who love photography too. I recommend that you try a photo club and see if you like it. Each photo club is a bit different.
