In the middle of winter, I start observing the buds. I watch to see when the leaves and the flowers will start appearing. Of course, it is too early for this to happen this winter, but I keep hoping for signs of spring. A major sign of spring occurs when these buds open. They are buds on the dogwood tree and they open up in mid spring.
