Hoarding

Winter Storm Jupiter has been anticipated for several days now. People have been buying bread, milk, batteries, and other emergency supplies to prepare for the storm. This squirrel decided to gather up sunflower seeds. If you look closely, you can see that he is holding the seeds in both of his paws. The storm was supposed to have hit Friday and was supposed to be a multi-day storm. So far, my area has missed most of the precipitation. Some light freezing mist has fallen on Friday and Saturday. There is a light glaze of ice on the surfaces. I will see what the weather is like tomorrow. Will the squirrel's prediction of winter weather come true?
Nice shot!

How cute- he reminds me of the shoppers who run to the store and buy everything on the shelf in a panic- both hands holding all the food. Excellent close-up and great catch!

@thewatersphotos When I posted this photo, the worst of Winter (Ice) Storm Jupiter was headed right towards my city. The storm slowed down. Then, it split into two parts. One part went north and one part went south. We missed the worst of the storm here. We did get some ice, but our electric power stayed on. We were very fortunate, as this was a bad storm.

@olivetreeann Thank you. Yes, people were going crazy here. I heard of one couple who bought nine loaves of bread! It would take my husband and me a long time to eat those nine loaves. I think the squirrel was in a panic to get food too.

@beryl Thank you. I shot this one through the window. I took two shots and this was the one that was in focus. He froze just for a few seconds for this shot, so I could get my focus.
