Droplets by daisymiller

Droplets

We had a surprise snowstorm. The weather forecaster said that we might have a brief (15 minute) period of mixed freezing precipitation in the morning. Instead, we had a few hours of snowfall, followed by a brief period of mixed freezing precipitation, and then a rain storm. I went outside to photograph the snow when it was beginning to rain lightly. I was amazed by the textures of the frozen stuff. This precipitation was so different than usual and the look of it on the ground and plants was so different. By the time I got to the center flower bed, the snow was beginning to melt. This shot shows the melted frozen droplets on the yarn holding the hibiscus branches together.
Beautiful detail! I remember reading a photograph once who said that while most people complain about rain and other weather which keeps them indoors, he was happy for it because he found so many great things to photograph when he went out in it. Seems you have made the same discovery! Nice shot!
