This little fella is 3.5cm high (about 1½" for old folks, and Americans). He's a plastic Space Marine that I painted on a trip to the Games Workshop headquaters in Nottingham last year.
The trippy blur effect is due to the lens combo I was using in this shot. I used my nifty 50 (EF 50mm f/1.8 II) and an Opteka 0.20x Fisheye "lens". I say "lens" because it's really just a filter - a huge hunk of glass inside a tube that screws into the filter thread. It makes it very difficult to focus but it does reduce the minimum focusing distance considerably.
I have one of those "lenses" myself... in fact, I used it on my shot today because there wasn't enough room between the front of the truck I was shooting and the vehicle in front of it, so I used the fisheye "lens"
